Benefits of Very Narrow Aisle Forklifts

Very narrow aisle forklifts, also known as order pickers or turret trucks, are made to be used indoors within tight spaces in between shelves. Narrow aisle equipment generally includes lifts that operate in 8 – 10 ft. aisles and are most often electric drive.

They are designed to reach material on high shelves, as well as be able to make tight turns. The forks on VNA lifts rotate 180 degrees and the lifts reach up to 50 feet. Operators can approach from either side of the aisle without having to maneuver the entire truck.

VNA forklifts are ideal for smaller spaces because they only turn the load, while larger counterbalanced forklifts turn the entire vehicle in the aisle. These smaller forklifts are also safer for those working within the warehouse or factory. Larger, traditional forklifts can be hazardous in narrow aisles because they do not leave enough room to turn or back up, and often leave operators with obstructed views.
